Oolong is a semi-oxidized tea that falls between green and black tea in character. Its leaves undergo a brief oxidation phase that is stopped through drying to achieve the desired level of oxidation. The leaves are also gradually withered under sunlight, enhancing their natural sweetness and giving the tea its warm, balanced flavor.

Traditional Oolong teas are made exclusively from whole leaves, with most production coming from China and Taiwan.
